16/08/2001 : Smart Card growth boosts ID Data sales force
ID Data plc, the UK's largest supplier of secure transaction systems and smart card services, has appointed two new sales consultants and two international sales directors, in response to the continuing growth in demand for smart cards worldwide.
These appointments substantially increase the size of the ID Data sales force in line with the company's business expansion plans. Nigel Bromley, formerly senior global sales manager of Empower Interactive Group Ltd and Thomas Kenny, formerly vice president of e-Business of Citibank in London, will head the international sales teams, concentrating on the GSM market.
Christopher Holah, formerly account manager of Keycorp Systems Ltd, is working with multi-applications, such as MULTOS. Helen Taylor, the former retail account handler for Special EFX Ltd, is working with loyalty membership clients, such as the Automobile Association (AA). Both join ID Data as sales consultants.
Commenting on the appointments, Peter Cox, Chief Executive of ID Data, said: "The wide range of skills brought to ID Data by these appointments includes specific sector expertise in e-commerce, telecoms, secure payment systems and banking. The company's existing strong position, together with the experience of the new sales team, will ensure we make healthy progress. The current international client base of ID Data combined with the extensive contacts in, and knowledge of, the specific markets, being brought by the new team, will fuel further expansion."
