Markets : High Security Accreditation Cards
ID Data and its partner Toppan were selected by the European Commission and the Athens Olympic Committee to produce the Accreditation Card for the 2004 Athens Olympics. This state-of-the-art card was used to identify thousands of athletes, journalists and VIPs who were visiting the Olympics from all over the world. The card was also used as a Visa for Olympic participants to safely enter European Territory during the period of the Olympic Games.
More recently ID Data and Hitachi were tasked with providing accreditation cards for delegates visiting the United Nations WSIS Conference in Tunis. Being one of the most secure environments in the world, the solution had to be able to track 19,000 high profile delegates as they moved through the various security controls. Each delegate's accreditation card was securely encrypted at ID Data’s high security site in Petersfield (UK), allowing them to pass through the security controls with minimum disruption.
Accreditation cards incorporate a number of anti-counterfeiting features designed to discourage terrorists, smugglers and other criminals from targeting high profile buildings or events. Through its partnership with Toppan, ID Data is uniquely placed to facilitate the very highest levels of security for government or corporate institutions, sporting tournaments or media spotlight events.
Based on Toppan's ultra-thin film technology, accreditation cards use multi-coloured diffraction-grating images, special pigment security inks, three-dimensional digital holograms, ultra-violet digital photographs and sophisticated microcline printing, making counterfeiting of the card impossible.
