ID Data Group plc
The Board consists of the non-executive chairman, two executive directors and one non-executive director. The Board normally meets each alternate month and has formally adopted a schedule of matters which are required to be brought to it for decision. This ensures that it maintains full and effective control over appropriate strategic, financial, operational and compliance issues.
Mike Blackburn, Non-Executive Chairman
Mike Blackburn was appointed to the Board in September 2000 and sits on both the Group's Remuneration and Audit Committees. He joined the banking industry in 1962 and held senior management positions at Lloyds Bank plc prior to becoming chief executive at the Joint Credit Card Company (Access). In 1987 he joined Leeds Permanent Building Society as its chief executive and, in 1993, was appointed the chief executive of Halifax Building Society, subsequently Halifax plc, a position he held until his retirement in 1998. Mike Blackburn is also a trustee of the Duke of Edinburgh Awards.
Peter Cox, Chief Executive
Peter Cox has over twenty years’ experience in the card solutions business. He founded ID Data in 1988 and has been the chief executive of the business for the past fifteen years. Prior to this, he was the vice-president and chief executive officer for NBS outside North America, an organisation for which he worked for ten years in various management roles.
Stephen Mitchell, Company Secretary & Group Financial Director
Stephen Mitchell joined ID Data as Financial Director in January 2005. An experienced FD, he trained with KPMG working in audit and corporate finance, including a secondment to a venture capitalist. Since leaving the profession he has had experience in growing technology and manufacturing companies including moving manufacturing processes to high quality, low cost countries. Stephen became company secretary 1st August 2008.

Alan Jordan, Managing Director
Alan joined ID Data in June 2008 with a strong background in the card related industry and was, prior to this appointment, Chief Executive of Oakhill Group plc, now renamed Prime Active Capital plc, and was responsible for its successful restructuring and turnaround to profitability. Alan has a track record of success in business development, in senior management positions in a public company environment, covering a number of industries including plastic cards, electrical, food and IT.
John Cooke, Business Development Director
John Cooke joined ID Data in 2001 and is responsible for developing innovative products and services in line with our new business values. Prior to his appointment as Business Development Director in May 2006 he was the company’s Commercial Director & Commercial Manager. He has held a number of management positions within a diverse range of manufacturing businesses including extended periods with Koito Europe, a Japanese first tier automotive company, and several leading UK retail suppliers including Country Artists and the Sterling Group.
Marshall Haldane, Operations Director
Marshall Haldane has sixteen years’ experience in the card manufacturing and personalisation sectors having joined in 1989, working in various operational and engineering management roles before being appointed to Operations Director in July 2005, responsible for all manufacturing in the UK and Poland. Prior to this he trained and worked as a marine engineer in the Royal Navy before leaving to run production operations at British Steel at its Corby tube manufacturing site for a nine year period.
Tim Cronin, Sales Director
Tim Cronin joined ID Data as Sales Director in October 2006, bringing with him extensive knowledge of the Global Smart card Industry. Tim's role will be essential in driving the Group’s European sales activities forward whilst delivering our core values and reinforcing our position as industry innovators. Before this appointment, Tim was Sales Director at Strontium PLC, and prior to this, Managing Director at Orga Smart Cards Ltd, specialising in Global business development and major account management. Tim also has a combined proven track record in international sales and a wealth of experience in the telecoms, banking and communications industries.

Don Stapleton, Sales Director
Don Stapleton joined CardBASE in Dublin in 2000, working initially as customer project manager and then moved quickly into frontline sales and marketing. Don has worked in the software industry for twelve years in roles spanning the full lifecycle of software development, gaining experience across a range of industries including insurance, banking, logistics and the public sector. Don holds a degree in computing and has recently completed a diploma in financial management.
Pierre Heuze, Development & Operations Director
Pierre Heuze joined CardBASE in Dublin in 2000 as a technical architect. He now has global responsibility for product development and delivery. Prior to this, Pierre worked as project manager and consultant with Esso, Siemens and other companies across Europe’ contributing to various projects to deliver innovative quality solutions in areas such as smart cards, information security and resource optimisation. Pierre holds a Master’s degree in mathematics and an engineering degree from the École des Mines, Nancy.
