Smart or chip cards for the banking, government and retail sectors are part of ID Data's core business. Consequently, a significant proportion of our investment over the next five years will be focused on extending our smart card capabilities. Our new in-house development team work exclusively on smart card production and innovation.
In addition, our partnerships with Toshiba and Toppan ensure that we are at the forefront of silicon chip developments. Combined with our strong relationships with Hitachi and ST Microelectronics, ID Data can guarantee favourable supply arrangements via a range of specialist suppliers.
To date, we have delivered over 60 million secure cards on behalf of our banking clients. Currently, smart cards (finance and non-finance) account for up to 20% of our total card production.
